Henley finds some stability

The good news was simple for Russell Henley.

Saturday wasn’t good, but it was a lot better than Friday.

The Maconite started the day with a bogey, and followed with one two holes later, but smoothed things out for an even third round to sit in a tie for 36th, three over for the tournament.

Henley was one of only 19 players to shoot even or better on Saturday, the day topped by Webb Simpson’s 5-under 65.

He got the bogeys out of the way on the front nine, and had three birdies on the back nine.

Last year, Henley opened with a 78, and followed with 70, 74, and 75 to tie for 71st. His 1-under 279 was good for a tie for 37th in 2020.

He tees of Sunday at 11:25 a.m., and is paired with Rikuya Hoshino.
