Friday's Braves Report: Teheran, bullpen turn in solid effort, boosted by 7 and 8 in lineup
The bottom of the lineup and (most of) the pitching staff came up big for Atlanta in the Braves’ 5-1 win at St. Louis.
Johan Camargo and Dansby Swanson, batting seventh and eighth, each had three hits, Camargo scoring twice and driving in two runs and Swanson with an RBI.
Ronald Acuna went 0-for-4 with a late walk in his return to the majors.
Julio Teheran gave up two hits and struck out four with two walks in six innings, throwing 88 pitches. Peter Moylan, Jesse Biddle, and A.J. Minter no-hit the Cards, but Luke Jackson loaded the bases with one out and was pulled for Dan Winkler.
He got the second out on his first pitch, but that broke the shutout. A five-pitch strikeout then ended it, giving Winkler his first major-league save.

With Acuna's return, the Braves are currently carrying 13 position players. So, a position player would likely be removed to create a spot for Fried. This could lead to a decision regarding Bourjos or Santana, who are both out of options./MB
Snit certainly didn't want to use Winkler tonight. He hopes to stay away from him "until we get Viz back and add another depth piece."/GB
