Macon keeps winning streak alive, tops Savannah
Macon got off another good start, and was again able to maintain it with a 5-4 afternoon win over host Savannnah.
The Bacon improved to 2-5 against the Bananas.
CJ Bush led Macon with two hits, while Brandon Michie (Mercer) scored twie and drove in two runs. Preston Sparks (Veterans) improved to 1-1 with the win, throwing five innings. Isaac Hale got his second save.
Macon put four on the board in the first inning on a walk, error, Alex Crotty single and Michie two-run homer.
The Bacon returned to a .500 record.
Macon hosts Lexington County in a Thursday doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m., and then the teams play again Friday at Lexington County. Macon is at Florence on Saturday and hosts Florence on Sunday.
