Impending bullpen issues show up in Braves loss

            Sean Newcomb gave Atlanta six innings, but the Braves needed more to avoid a 6-5 afternoon loss to Cincinnati and lose the series.

            Atlanta led 4-2 after four, the teams exchanged runs in the fifth, and the Reds put three across in the seventh.

            Cincy outhit Atlanta 11-7, and stranded three more runners.

Newcomb threw career-high 111 pitches: 6 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 6 K. After past 4 #Braves starters went 5 innings or less, he's first to go more since his 7 innings Friday./DOB

Castillo retired the first 11 batters he faced and then allowed the Braves to produce four straight baserunners w/ 2 outs in the fourth.  Suzuki and Culberson tied it with consecutive RBI singles./MB

Wes Parsons arrived at SunTrust Park around 9:30 a.m today.  His first stint as a Major Leaguer lasted approximately six hours. By 3:30 p.m., he began packing after being told he'd been optioned back to Gwinnett./MB
