          FPD grad Titus Moore competed Friday in a USA Track and Field national junior meet, and fared well.

          DeAndre Smelter has been waiting for the right break, and it may be with an NFL team lot closer than San Fran for the former Tattnall and Georgia Tech standout.

Macon reaches. 500 with road win

          Macon’s offense was strong late in a 6-3 win over host Gastonia in Coastal Plain action.

          Cal Gentry (Perry/Georgia College) was among four Bacon with two-hit games, being joined by Riley King, Jackson Jones, and Jared Kapturasky.

          Dylan Spacke was the first of six Macon pitchers, and he evened is record at 1-1 while Isaac Hale got the save. The Bacon struck out 13 and walked three.

          Macon hosts Savannah at 7 p.m. Saturday.
