Friday's Braves Report: what happened to the bullpen?

Bullpen hits wall, gives up seven runs

          In the seventh, Atlanta led by one. A couple innings later, the night ended with the Braves losing 9-3 to San Diego.

          The game inspired debate about the future of all sorts of pitchers. Brandon McCarthy gave up two runs in 5.2 innings, but things weren't so good for four relievers.

With his third-inning triple, Swanson is now hitting .327 (17-for-52) against pitches on the outer third of the plate.  He hit .221 (31-for-140) against such pitches last year./ MB
