Henley struggles, stays under par
The bogeyman followed Russell Henley for much of Friday’s second round of the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte.
Henley suffered a drop of 21 spots on the leadeboard after a 2-over 73, courtesy of three bogeys on the front nine and then one to end the day.
In between, he managed only two birdies. Still, he’s only 10 back of leader Xander Schauffele.
Henley started on No. 10, and was in a hole early with bogeys on 11 and 12, followed by some stability until another on 18.
He stabilized again, with seven pars and a birdie before a bogey on 9, his final hole.
Henley tees off at 10:55 a.m. with Andrew Putnam.
