Henley makes a move at Sony

Russell Henley couldn’t muster up a bogey-free round, but he did rack up six birdies, and that launched him into a tie for 26th after two rounds of the Sony Open.

Henley was 4-under for the day, and is now only four shots back of tri-leaders Carl Yaun, Austin Eckroat, and Byeong Hun An.

He got the day started with a birdie, and closed with four birdies on the back nine. Henley was off target on par putts of just more than eight feet and missed par on No. 5/15 by an inch on a 19-footer.

Henley tees off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with Si Woo Kim and  Brendon Todd, with the Golf Channel picking it up at 7 p.m.
