Central eyes first win, welcomes Worth County

The sixth 0-3 start in the last seven years is what Central will look to avoid on Thursday when it hosts Worth County at the Ed DeFore Sports Complex.

Since starting off 5-0 in 2016, Central’s best start was in 2020 at 2-2, which includes a 12-7 on-the-field win over Westside that was ruled a Central forfeit a few weeks later for using an ineligible player.

Worth County, a 32-7 winner in last year’s meeting en route to an 8-3 record, is 1-2 and off a 41-7 thumping by Upson-Lee.
