Derricka Lewis laid down a superb bunt to bring in C. Nesbitt the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh as the Irish avoided blowing an 8-0 lead.

Summer Wright scored three times for the Trojans, who put eight across in the fifth.

Teagan Hinson led Piedmont with three hits in four trip, the Cougars scouring 10 in the seventh inning.

Tattnall 5, Strong Rock 1

Caroline Patterson had three hits and the Trojans added two-hit nights from Brianna Logue and Callie Still, taking control with three in the fifth.

Westfield 14, FPD 3

Carleigh Knowles belted three homers and drove in six runs as the Hornets blew it open late, with three in the sixth and six in the seventh. Lauren Davidson added three hits, Emmy. Dehem had four RBI and two hits for Westfield, which had 17 hits.

West Laurens 16, Howard 2, 5 inn.

The Raiders sent 10 to the plate in the five-run third to seal it. Halley Nobles, Tannah Cobb, and Jaylee Giles each had two hits to go with the three-hit game from Katelyn Wilson, who drove in three RBI. Emilee Garrett whiffed five for the win. West Laurens (8-2/3-0) hosts Perry on Thursday, the same day Howard (5-5/2-2) visits Spalding.

The Trojans won their eighth straight over the Panthers, led by Alexia Heyard’s 11 aces in 21 serves. Kelly Blackmon added four kills, and Peach County (3-6, at Howard on Wednesday) got good defense form Nyala Tillman and Uzzhia Rumph.
