The Royals (6-2/2-0) had a shutout until the final minute of the game, the safety coming after a defensive stand gave Bleckley County the ball deep, albeit with a 42-0 lead. The Royals got going with Kam Everett’s short scoring pass to 10 five minutes into the game, followed by Joshua Stanley’s 67-yard burst three minutes later. Cam Beck went in from the 6 early in the second for a 21-0 lead. Jefferson County dropped to 0-8/0-2, only a few years after going 10-3 in 2020.
Westside 29, Griffin 16
The Seminoles improved to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in Region 2-4A, avenging last year’s 35-14 loss. The Bears led 16-13 at halftime, Westside scoring with less than four minutes left to pull ahead by 10 with 3:39 left in the game.
