Ella Dowd belted two homers – including a grand slam – and Trinity Odom added a bomb for the Panthers in the 2.5-inning game, Dowd with eight RBI while picking up her 11th win. Ava Garrett, Anna Dean, and Lucy Layson added two hits each for the Panthers, Perry has won eight straight and 15 of its last 16. The Panthers sent 18 batters to the plate in the 14-run first inning. Howard (8-7/5-3) and Perry (15-5/7-1) meet in Macon Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Macon TD Club honors a Viking, Charger, Eagle
Players from FPD, Central, and Stratford earned weekly honors.
Back of the week: FPD junior quarterback Jahkari Williams ran 25 times for 231 yards and two scores, completing 8 of 14 for 88 yards in the Vikings loss to Mt. Pisgah.
Lineman: Senior defensive end Caleb Heard of Central had eight tackles, three for loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles, a recovery, and touchdown in the 27-21 win over Kendrick.
Special teams: Stratford sophomore Stebin Horne drilled the game-winning 47-yard field goal with time expiring in the Eagles’ 37-34 win at Brookstone.
