Around/About Central Georgia

GHSA flips a coin for quarterfinals, and …

The coin bounced on the floor and off a wall, and landed with the GHSA logo facing.

That means that the bottom team in football brackets when both teams have the same seeds will be at home.

With a win: Houston County is a four seed, and travels regardless, the rest of the playoffs. Northside is on the road, to either Alpharetta or Rome.

Perry is home regardless, against either two seed Lovett or top seed North Oconee

Top seed Stephens County will travel to Peach County (which would host two seed Sandy Creek regardless).

Putnam County is on the bottom part of its bracket in AA.

Dublin and Bleckley County are in the top part in A/Division I and travel regardless of winners. Top seed Lamar County would travel to St. Francis.

Some teams won’t be affected by the flip.

Warner Robins will host third seed Dalton or visit top seed Creekside.

Northeast gets a home game in AA if three-seed Fannin County knocks off one seed Callaway.

Dooly County travels, to either Wilkinson County or Lincoln County in A/ Division II. Wilkinson County’s next game is clear, at home against Dooly County or at Charlton County.
