GHSA track: Wachtel, Stephens add to titles, Jones County's Ragins takes two in GHSA's final day (full scorers, team results)

Six more Central Georgians picked up titles on the final day of the GHSA state track meets on Saturday, with the area recording multiple winners for the weekend.
Mary Persons’ Justin Wachtel won the 800 in Class A boys, and, add that to his 3,200 win and fifth-place 1,600 finish, and he was the Class AAA boys high-point winner with 24 points.
Jones County freshman Zion Ragins racked up a pair of titles in 5A boys, in the 100 and 200, and ended up with high-point honors. And then he scored a touchdown in the Greyhounds’ spring game against Valdosta. Washington County’s Malyk Walker added to his take for the weekend with a win in the AA boys 400. FPD’s Walden Davis took the 300 hurdles title in A Private boys.
GMC’s De’Aisha Stephens also added to her hardware compiling for the weekend, winning the 800 and defending her title. Dodge County’s Sanna Searles took the AA girls 100 title.

Stephens is headed to The Citadel and Wachtel to Virginia. Walker has signed with Savannah state for football.
The best team finishes were by Washington County’s boys in AA and Stratford’s boys in Class A Private, both second.
Jones County’s boys, West Laurens’ girls, Mary Persons’ boys and girls, East Laurens’ and Dodge County’s girls, Putnam County’s boys, GMC’s girls, and Hancock Central’s boys all had top-10 finishes in their respective classes.
