          The Bears were up 16-0 after two in the three-inning opener, a Ally Fleming striking out six of the nine batters she faced. Kendall Huelsman had two hits, Averi Martin three RBI and two runs and Jocelyn Ross two RBI in the opener. It was 20-1 after two in the three-inning nightcap, the Bears needing only eight hits, thanks to four errors and 16 walks. Martin had three hits and three runs, Abbie Havard two hits and two RBI, and Makayla Krepps two RBI.

Northside (R1/3) 12, Lakeside-DeKalb (R4/2) 0; Northside 12, Lakeside; Northside advances

          The Eagles scored in every inning in the opener, a five-inning game. Madelyne Lee had three hits and three runs, and Kyle Ussery drove in four runs on three hits. Celena Luna fanned 11 in the two-hitter. A 10-run third ended it in the top of the fourth. Northside needed only four hits, thanks to 11 walks. Lee and Ussery had two RBI.

Cairo (R1/3) 11, Rutland, (R4/2) 6; Rutland 4, Cairo 1; Tuesday, 4 p.m., at Wesleyan

          Cairo led 3-2 after one, and the Hurricanes barged ahead with four in the third only for the Syrupmakers to double that in the fourth. Kinleigh King had three RBI and Kaitlyn Greene scored twice, Rutland stranding seven runners. Rutland’s three in the fourth won the second-game pitchers dual. King had two of Rutland’s six hits, and Amber Summerday went four in relief – two hits, six strikeouts, no walks – for the win.

Bleckley County (R3/1) 12, Bacon County (R2/4) 10 (9); Bleckley County 10, Bacon County 0; Bleckley County advances

          Darci Dillard drilled a walkoff two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth in the opener. Trinity Glover belted a grand slam and a two-run homer. Bleckley County’s 6-2 lead after two became a 9-8 deficit after fifth, the Royals tying it in the sixth on Clara Rickerson’s RBI single. The teams exchanged runs in the eighth, and Bacon County stranded a one-out single in the top of the ninth. A Keel walked to open the bottom half, and Dillard greeted a pitching change after a pitch with the walkoff. Rickerson had three hits, and Riley Haley got the win with final-inning relief. Rebecca Bowling and Addisyn Keel had three hits each, Bowling six RBI, to back the five-hit pitching of Haley in the nightcap.
