Dodgers go on the major offensive early, rout Braves in Game 3

Cristian Pache belted his first homer as a big leaguer, and it came in the playoffs.

And Huascar Ynoa threw four nice shutout innings.

After that, it was a “burn the tape” night for Atlanta, 15-3 loser to Los Angeles in Game 3 of the NLCS.

Looking ahead started early, the Dodgers putting 11 runs across in the first inning, hammering Kyle Wright and then Grant Dayton.

Joc Pederson had a three-run homer, followed by Edwin Rios.

Wright left down 6-0, the latest of four Braves pitchers to not make it out of the first inning, most recently Mike Foltynewicz in last year’s fifth game.

          Who followed Folty? Max Fried.

Max Muncy belted a grand slam, and soon enough, the inning had passed that nightmare last year when St. Louis put up 10 in the first inning of the fifth game in the NLDS.

That inning lasted 26 minutes, this one 32, and set a postseason record. Who had a run-scoring hit in the first for St. Louis? Marcell Ozuna.

Atlanta became the first team to allow multiple 10-plus runs in an inning in the postseason, and only team to cough up 10 or more in the first. Twice.

It was 15-0 before Pache’s homer.

Wright got two outs, gave up seven earned runs on five hits with two walks, two homers, and no strikeouts. Day went two innings: eight runs, eight hits, three homers, two strikeouts, a walk.

Manager Brian Snitker had plenty of managing to do, even in the rout, to set up pitching, and Ynoa made life much easier with four shutout innings. He fanned four, walked four, and gave up only one hit.

He threw 92 pitches, Dayton 62, Jacob Webb 27, and Shane Greene 25.

Jacob Webb and Shane Greene finished it.

Pederson had four hits and Corey Seager three for L.A.  Muncy with four RBI and Pederson with three.

The Braves put two up in the bottom of the ninth.

LA outhit Atlanta 16-7, and there were no errors.

Bryse Wilson is slated to start Thursday for Atlanta, and Clayton Kershaw – scrubbed Wednesday – tentatively gets the ball for L.A
