ACE 12, Taylor County 0; ACE 9, Taylor County 2
          The Gryphons pulled away with a six-run fourth, pitching holding the Vikings to six hits, two each from Hunter Moore and Trent Bennett. Chasen Lewis went 4-for-5 for ACE at leadoff and Fisher Timms 3-for-4 lower in the lineup, with two-hit games from Zane Johnson, Chandler Mitchell, C.J. Seymour, and Lem Thompson. Timms went all six for the win. ACE led 8-0 after four in the nightcap. Johnson and Timms had three hits each and Seymour drove in four runs. Ryan Tharpe, Evan Hinton, and Nathan Patterson had two hits each for Taylor County in the Class A Public series.

Commerce 11, Crawford County 2; Commerce 20, Crawford County 2
          The Eagles are eliminated in Class A Public.

Elbert County 9, Lamar County 3
          Lamar County is eliminated in Class AA.

Hawkinsville 5, Wheeler County 0; Hawkinsville 8, Wheeler County 4
          The Red Devils advances in Class A Public.

GMC 5, Jenkins County 2; Jenkins County 5, GMC 1

Mount de Sales 10, Athens Christian 7; Athens Christian 7, Mount de Sales 4
          Clutch? How about a walk-off grand slam? That’s what Micah Hattaway did to give the Cavs the Class A Private series-opening win. He followed singles by Clay Murphy and Rossman Diaz, and Kobe Butts getting hit by a pitch, driving a 1-1 pitch out to left. Murphy and Andrew Craddock had two hits each and Butts two RBI. The Cavs led 5-0 after one, and trailed 7-6 after five. Game 3 is Friday at 6.

Perry 17, Burke County 7
          The Panthers went up 8-3 after three, watched Burke County creep back but kept answering, and put a five-run icing on top in the top of the seventh to win the Class 4A series. Burke County had a monstrous nine errors, leading to a monstrous 12 unearned runs. Andrew Newhouse was money at leadoff with a 5-for-5 game. Lane Rucker was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs from the eighth spot. Jackson Nipper and Jayden Chance chipped in two hits each, Cam Mashburn adding two RBI along with Ian Cornelius and Colby McCleese. Five pitchers worked for Perry, surviving eight walks.

          Game 3 is 4 p.m. Friday.

Rutland 5, Worth County 3
          Rutland advances in Class 3A.

Vidalia 10, Washington County 0
          The season comes to an end for the Golden Hawks in the Class AA series.

          The Bears needed only a half for the Class 6A first-round win.

          Alyn Ovell turned in the hat trick and Elizabeth Rodenroth added to power the Huskies, who led 5-0 at half and got a goal from Carlie Harriger to advance in Class 4A.
