Westside alum Moore leaving Texas Tech
The end of Khavon Mooreās senior season at Westside didnāt change the interest of Texas Tech, and he became the Red Raidersā highest-rated recruit.
And now heās leaving, having reportedly entered the NCAAās transfer portal.
Moore Tweeted Thursday night that he was leaving with āa heavy heart,ā citing family reasons, thanking the school and its fan base.
There was some speculation after Moore displayed some unhappiness that he didnāt get any playing time after appearing to be back to 100 percent and was ājust waiting on an opportunity.ā That Tweet on Feb. 5 was deleted, and head coach Chris Beard called it a mistake.
Speculation grew when he didnāt make a trip to Oklahoma, and Beard had no comment, but promised one in a few days. The school then announced it was shutting Moore down the rest of the season ā which ended in the national championship game ā and would seek a medical redshirt.
Moore said when he signed with Texas Tech in February 2018 that he picked Texas Tech over Oklahoma, Mercer, Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson, among others.
