          Jackson led 10-0, trailed 12-10, regained the lead 17-12 by halftime, and 27-12 after three. Jackson held quarterback Donald Lamb to 41 yards passing, and Central’s top two rushers to 101 yards on the ground.

 

Softball

Bleckley County 13, Telfair County 8

          Abbey Sims belted two homers and drove in five runs, while Landa Dominy added a solo homer. Riley Edge had three hits, and Emily Sanders and Elisia Vicker had two hits each.

Coffee 8, Northside 2

          The Eagles had 10 errors, leading to six unearned runs. Amya Smith and Kylee Ussery had two hits each for Northside.

Dodge County 9, East Laurens 1

          A three-run third put the Indians in control over the Falcons, who had nine errors. Aniyah Black and Jade Dowdy drove in two runs each for Dodge County, five of whose runs were unearned. Dowdy fanned five with no walks in the five-inning complete game

GMC 6, Lincoln County 0

          Whitley Ward had three hits, Makenna Talcott two hits and Brooke Sheffield two RBI for the Bulldogs. Bella Herring struck out six with no walks for the complete-game win.

Houston County 11, Veterans 3

          A 7-run sixth sealed it for the Bears, who had 14 hits. Madi Campbell led Houston County with a 3-for-4 day and three runs. Alice Thomas, Ansley Garland, and Jamie Brenda had two hits each, with two RBI from Lauren Ross, Averi Martin, Garland and Kendall Heulsman. Olivia Brown and Rylee Lamb combined for the win. Kaylee Brown and Aleah Ostrat had two hits each for the Warhawks.

Jones County 10, Ola 8

          The teams exchanged big innings, six for Ola in the third and five by Jones County in the fourth, but the Greyhounds did more. Kloey Goins had four BBI on two hits. Mayson Watsford, Madison Bennett, Mackenzie Kilpatrick, Stephanie Youngblood, and Makinsey Long all had two hits for the Greyhounds.

Mary Persons 8, Howard 3

          Howard took a 3-0 lead, but five in the second and third put Mary Persons on top. Karli Buchanan, Elle Doolittle, and Haleigh Vaughn had two hits each for Howard.

Mount de Sales 3, FPD 2

Piedmont 14, LaGrange 0

          Madison Johnson drove in half of Piedmont’s runs on two hits – both homers – and Fleming Seal and Haley Ann Frank added two hits each, Neely Bradford fanning five in the four-inning one-hitter.

Pike County 7, Rutland 0

          Taylor Stewart had three hits for Rutland.

Tattnall 9, Trinity Christian 8

          The Trojans survived five errors, thanks to Kaci Paul’s single to left scoring Hailey Hallman with the lead run in the top of the seventh. Kenna Epps then retired TC in order to preserve the win. Epps had two hits and two RBI, as did Logan Oller. Logan Childs had two hits and three runs, Courtney Ball two hits, three runs and three RBI for the Trojans.

Upson-Lee 5, Spalding 1

          The Knights got two in the first and kept the lead. Julia Walden, Hanah Vanhouton, and Sydney Knight had two hits each for U-L. Zaria Childs went all seven for the win.

West Laurens 7, Perry 3

          Three Perry errors helped lead to three unearned runs. AlieRae Dykes, Reagan Hughes, and Carsen Garner each had two hits for Perry, which watched the Raiders score four in the sixth to break a tie.
