Area players compete in all-star football games
More than two dozen Central Georgia high school football players were back between the lines Friday.
In the Georgia Elite Senior game: Jones County’s Ja’Darien Boykins had three tackles, one for loss, and ran once for no gain; Jones County’s DJ Stewart had a tackle; Houston County’s Sion Spencer had an assist.
In the Junior game: Jones County’s Caden Mutchler had four carries for 11 yards, Upson-Lee’s Thad Webb had a catch for 24 yards, Peach County’s Talique Allen led the American with five tackles, while teammate Bryce McGuire had a tackle and TFL. Peach County’s Daelen Smith and Kobe Towns each had an assist, and Putnam County’s Jamar Robertson a tackle.
In the Sophomore game: Warner Robins’ Ahmad Walker led the Nationals with four tackles, a TFL, and an interception. Upson-Lee’s Maddox Jackson shared high-tackle honors on the Americans with four, while Dodge County’s JT Ellis had 3.5, with three TFLs and 2.5 sacks.
In the Brain Bowl: Washington County’s Warren Coneway and Hawkinsville’s Christian Mahogany each had a tackle, Jones County’s Nathan Seiy had three tackles, Upson-Lee’s Artez Smith was in on three tackles, and Bleckley County’s Hugh Cairney was 3-for-3 on PATs.
