There wasn’t much suspense in the Region 1-5A title game at Warner Robins, and little was expected.

But things were as frenetic as expected in region tournament title games in Sandersville and Milledgeville.

For the second straight year, Washington County upended top seed Dublin in the boys 3-AA title game, this time by a point at home compared to a two-point win last year.

The home court wasn’t as friendly for Washington County’s girls, who were knocked off by 2-seed Dodge County 61-54, thanks to a balanced scoring attack.

It wasn’t good for GMC’s boys, the 2 seed in 7-A’s East, who lost 57-51 to Wilkinson County, the 2 seed in the West. Stratford’s girls got past Tattnall 46-37 for their third straight region title.

Warner Robins’ boys rolled to their fifth straight region title, thumping Harris County 76-54 for their eighth straight win to improve to 22-3. The Demons had popped the Tigers 80-55 and 86-35 during the regular season.

A look at the Central Georgia pairings is coming Sunday. Teams need to send playoff information as soon as possible to centralgasports@gmail.com for Central Georgia's most complete high school schedule and scoreboard.

8:30 p.m: B-Championship, 1/Central 59, 2/Westside 56

Westside will bemoan the missed chances of missed free throws in the fourth quarter, and of Central's Kanuri Williams sealing it at the line.
