GHSA wrestling: Horne wins showdown, helps W. Laurens to 2nd in 4A; Farber repeats; full Central Georgia results

          As expected, the championship bout at 285 pounds in Class 4A at the GHSA state traditional wrestling meet was tight.

          West Laurens’ Joseph Horne became the final Raider to win a state title when he edged Upson-Lee’s Lazavier Moore 5-4 Saturday afternoon at the Macon Coliseum.

          Horne joined teammates Ben Deal and Spencer Dacus in bring home titles and helping the Raiders to a second-place finish in Class 4A. West Laurens also had several wrestlers score points on Saturday.

Two-time state champ Dashawn Farber of Northside stands atop the medals stand.

          Veterans finished sixth in Class 6A, sparked a title from Francis Morrisey, two third-place and a fourth-place finish.

          Northside’s Dashawn Farber cruised to his second straight state 6A title, winning 18-1.
