Brother of Perry's Casey Hayward dead after Macon auto accident

          The brother of former Perry High multi-sport standout and current NFL quarterback Casey Hayward died late Monday in an auto accident on I-75 in south Macon.

          Jecavesia Hayward was a passenger in a 2011 Camrya and was ejected from the vehicle  after it hit a tractor trailer. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

           His name has been reported by local edia as Jecavies, but his mother's obituary and other sources indicate it was Jecavesia. He is listed by on Perry football rosters for 2006 and 2007, and played basketball at Perry as well.

          The 27-year-old was the younger brother of Casey Hayward, who graduated from Perry and Vanderbilt, and was picked in the second round of the 2012 draft by Green Bay. He became a free agent and signed with San Diego in the spring of 2016.

          San Diego’s franchise moved to Los Angeles since then.

          Jecaives Hayward was 27, and is survived by brothers Casey Jr., Casey J., and father Casey Sr.

          It’s the second tragedy to hit the Hayward family in less than two years.

          Tish Hayward, Casey and Jecaives mother, died in July 2016 of cancer at the age of 45.

          Casey Hayward pledged 10 years of scholarships to Perry High after his mother died, and he soon after began the Hayward’s Hands Foundation in Perry.

          Services as of Tuesday night were incomplete.
