Henley climbs up leaderboard
Russell Henley went from three bogeys in seven holes on day to a bogey-free round the next day, and threw in an eagle for good measure.
That lifted the Stratford grad 10 spots and into a tie for fifth after two rounds of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
Henley’ 4-under round put him four shots back of leader Shane Lowry, and tied with Rory McIlroy and Jason Day.
Henley was mostly able to avoid trouble, with minimal interactions with bunkers and roughs and quality escapes.
He is first in shots gained around the green, third in scrambling, tied for first in sand saves and tied for fifth in shots gained total.
Henley opened last year’s tournament with a 68 and 69 en route a tie for fourth.
