Hoops coaching carousel: Perry taps McIntyre
Austin McIntyre has a new job, but he won’t be going anywhere.
Perry announced on social media Monday that the Panthers’ boys assistant basketball coach is the new girls head basketball coach.
Fran McPherson spent two years at Perry after a long career at Marion County, going 20-30 - according to information submitted to MaxPreps – with the Panthers.
McIntyre, a Fullington grad who attended Georgia Southwestern and Georgia College, moved to Perry from Veterans in 2023. He is also on the football staff.
As per Sandysspiel.com, there are girls openings at Washington County (Terry Stephens, four seasons) and Dublin (Monte Killins, one year). Boys openings: Northeast (William Gordon, three years), and Crawford County (Darrin Clark, five years).
Also, Dodge County (Pete Ranson, one year), became open Monday.
