Henley joined by former Bulldog Straka
A good start came to a halt midway through the round, but Russell Henley rebounded with a solid finish and is in very good shape after two rounds of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Two bogeys in three-hole stretch followed three pars in Henley’s first five holes, but he finished the second nine with a birdie and eight pars, dropping into a tie for second with Cam Davis. The two are three shots back of Sepp Straka, who recorded his second straight 65. Henley was 3 under for the day and Davis 4 under.
Five players are tied for fourth and four more for ninth.
Henley hit bunkers twice on No. 6, and a 32-foot putt for par got to within 15 inches. He birdied No. 7, but again struggled with bunker on No. 8, getting a 52-footer within 3 feet of a par.
The Stratford and Georgia grad remains first in the field in shots gained putting and is second in shots gained overall.
