Division I (5A, 4A, 3A) 12 teams

5. Jones County

As expected, the Greyhounds rebounded from a mere 3-point game, but they had to sweat it out some against Union Grove.

4. Peach County

The Trojans had the week off to prepare for Northside, probably not good news for Northside.

3. Perry

So much for the loss to Houston County, the Panthers handling a 5A team before hosting a 6A team.

2. Houston County

There wasn’t much of a surprise against Tift County.

1. Warner Robins

A week off and then a struggling Veterans team is unlikely to change No. 1.

Division II (2A, A, GIAA) 33 teams

Top 10

10. Hawkinsville

The Red Devils still need a marquee win, but they may be getting there.

9. FPD

The Vikings unveiled a new approach last week and put up 47 points after scoring WHAT points in three of their four previous games.

8. Stratford

Charging out to a 17-0 lead over Frederica wasn’t a surprise. Having to hold on for a three-point win was notable.

7. Jasper County

Defense has the Purple Hurricanes headed toward their first winning season since their head coach was a peach-fuzzed undergrad at Valdosta State.

6. Tattnall

The Trojans are becoming pretty consistent on both sides of the line.

5. ACE Charter

A nice taking-care-of-business romp at Wilkinson County.

4. Northeast

Those concerns some had a few weeks ago? Gone. No, Jefferson County isn’t good, but doing what you’re supposed to do to teams like that is good.

3. Dodge County

The Indians move up after a quality win over Vidalia, gutting it out. When Dodge County starts getting sharper, watch out. And looking ahead: the regular-season finale is at home against Dublin.

2. Lamar County

The Trojans haven’t been themselves, but they were themselves last week against Rutland. Looks like some mojo is showing up.

1. Dublin

Know who likes Dublin’s weeks off? People on the schedule.
