Expectations in SIAC high for Fort Valley State
As if the Fountain City Classic needs any more juice, the 2024 version will be amped if SIAC coaches and sports information directors are right.
They voted Fort Valley State to finish second in the conference. And they picked Albany State to win it.
The Wildcats are going for their first conference title since 2016, and the Rams first since 2021. Each is trying to unseat two-time champ Benedict.
Veterans grad Daniel Gibbs earned a first-team nod at placekicker, and is a returning honoree.
Teammates Brandon Marshall (a Mercer transfer) at running back, Kamari Blankumsee (DB), and returner DeJuan Bell made the first team, linebacker Malik Harp on the second team.
