The visitors broke Macon’s heart with a 3-run ninth for the win.
Macon led off the bottom half with a single only for Antonio Brown to get caught stealing, and the next two batters to go down in order.
Brown, Eli Frank, and Charlie Davis each had 2 hits for the Bacon, who struck out 12 times.
Macon visits Florence on Thursday, then welcomes Lexington County on Friday and Catawba on Saturday.

Former coach, longtime GHSA associate director Giddens dies
A year after retiring from full-time work and less than a week before his 60th birthday, former GHSA associate director and longtime Colquitt County and Coffee coach and athletics director Kevin Giddens died.
The Moultrie Observer, where Giddens had returned after retirement, reported Wednesday that he died unexpectedly at his home.
The Cochran native played for the legendary Erk Russell at Georgia Southern in the mid-1980s, with a staff that included Paul Johnson, Robert E. Lee grad (Thomaston) Hugh Nall, and current GHSA associate commissioner Jay Russell, son of the head coach.
Gidden was the GHSA’s football coordinator for four years after joining the association in 2019. He remained as a part-time GHSA aide for bass fishing, football and soccer after retirement.
He went 0-7 at Long County in 1990, and then 10-21 as Coffee’s head coach from 1998-2000 after serving on the Colquitt County staff for four seasons. He returned to Colquitt County as an assistant, and then moved up to athletics director in 2013, where he stayed until joining the GHSA.
He is survived by his wife Lynn, daughter Shannon, and son Bryce, an assistant at Colquitt County.
