A 3-run fifth put Macon on top and the Bacon bullpen closed the door for Macon’s first road win this season after eight losses.
Griffen Gunther and Jalen Hudson threw the final 3.2 innings and gave up only one run, Hudson getting the save.
Gabe Wuerth and West Laurens grad Matthew Mebane (Georgia College) each had two hits for Macon, Mebane with 2 RBI, joining Charles Dean with homers.
Macon hosts Martinsville on Saturday, visits Boone on Sunday and welcomes Boone on Tuesday and Florence on Wednesday.
