Forest City 9, Macon 5
There was plenty of action in the ninth inning, but it didn’t change the outcome of Forest City winning.
The Owls scored 3 in the top of the ninth and the Bacon 2 in the bottom half.
Macon outhit the visitors 12-6, but Bacon pitching walked 9 batters to counter 12 strikeouts. Macon batters whiffed 14 times and walked 5. The teams combined for 6 hit batters, 4 by Macon starter Zach Garber, who lasted 1.2 innings, plunking three straight batters in the second.
Macon fell to 3-12, second-worst record in the league behind the Greenville Yard Gnomes (3-13). The Bacon host Lexington County on Thursday.
