The early-season woes continued for Macon, down 3-1 early and unable to mount any offense in losing to Florence, thanks in part to two errors.
Florence scored 2 in the second and 1 in the third, Macon managing its lone run in the fifth, Florence adding insurance in the sixth.
Both teams had 5 hits. Charles Dean had two for Macon, now 1-6. The Bacon host Florence on Saturday.

Dublin had a trio of state champion track athletes sign Friday, Tahara Diallo with Breanau, Ra’Nyya Washington with Clayton State, and Azoria Lovett with Fort Valley State. Diallo and Lovett have three state championships, and Washington one.
