Central Georgians take Positive Athlete state honors
The Positive Athlete group quietly handed out its regional honors last month, with loads of Central Georgia student-athletes cited.
It recently released its state winners, and two Central Georgians made the list: Isaiah Respert of Howard is the state’s football honoree, and Southwest’s Patrick Saladrigas (wrestling) the state’s top boys coach.
The group had a lone choice for 28 spots.

Rain delays NCAA golf regional, Mercer’s Jonsson
Mercer’s Tobias Jonsson remains tied for third place at the NCAA Division I golf regional in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Rain finished Tuesday’s action early in the third round. East Tennessee leads Clemson one by a shot. The top 5 teams in the 13-team field, that includes tied-for-fourth Georgia Tech, advance.
Also tied for 36th is Georgia Tech’s Christo Lamprecht. Clemson’s Calahan Keever has the top score with a pair of 65s
