Central Georgians earn Positive Athletes honors

           Nearly two dozen area athletes and coaches were named to regional winners by Positive Athlete.org’s Georgia honorees.

          There are 27 categories, for sports and coaches and overall.

          The group covers several regions: Middle Georgia, East, Southeast, Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, East Atlanta, West, Gwinnett County, North Atlanta, Cobb County, Atlanta, Northwest Atlanta, and South Atlanta.

          Schools in Central Georgia are spread out among different regions. The area region covers Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dodge, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Johnson, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Montgomery, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, Telfair, Treutlen, Twiggs, Washington, Wheeler, Wilcox, and Wilkinson counties.

          Athletes from 21 Central Georgia high schools earned mention, including two from Howard, Westside, and Central. Northeast was named the most positive school.

Howard, Jasper County, John Milledge, Mary Persons, Mount de Sales, Northeast, Northside, Peach County, Perry, Rutland, Southwest, Stratford, Warner Robins, Westfield, Westside, and West Laurens.
