Henley gets second top-5 finish

Much of the field stayed together, but Scottie Scheffler pulled away at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Most players fairly muddled through with nice but unimpressive scores, and Russell Henley was in that group, his even round on Sunday good enough for a tie for fourth.

Henley was 7 under for the tournament, and watched chances to seriously contend fall away early Sunday with three bogeys in the first eight holes.

The Stratford grad has finished all six tournaments this season under par.

Bay Hill was tough on almost everybody. Henley was 7 under to tie for fourth, the same position he had at the Sony Open when he was 16 under.

Henley missed par putts of 11 feet, 7.5 feet, and 18 feet on the bogeys, but turned out some quality efforts on other holes. He was an inch from an eagle on 16.

Up next for Henley, who took home more than $900,000, is the Player Championship this week at Ponta Vedra and TPC Sawgrass. He finished tied for 19th last year with a 6-under 282, surviving a 146 in the first two rounds.
