          Jazlyn Johnson with 15 and Aniya Dugger with 13 teamed to outscored the visitors, Alaya Grane adding another 11. Johnson had 11 boards and Dugger 6, with Grane chipping in 8 assists.

          Spencer had nothing for Lyric Green, who went for a whopping 35 points and 25 rebounds. Autumn Rhodes added 16 points and Javonna Hamilton 15 rebounds. It was 38-11 at half.

          The Trojans held the Irish to single digits in the first three quarters, leading 51-23 entering the fourth.

          Vikings head coach Moneak McCrary picked up her 100th career win as Taylor County improved to 26-3.

Veterans 76, Brunswick 42

          The Warhawks were dominant and balanced in the 5A second-round game. Gabby Minus led the way with 16 points, with 15 from Nariah Nelson, 12 from Rionna Byrd, and 10 from Desteyn Seaton. The Warhawks led 20-9 after one, and held Brunswick to single digits in the third and fourth quarters.

          Only three Vikings scored, but it was enough, thanks to 20 points from Faith Wasden, and a dozen each from Bowen Matthews and 12 from Elly Wadsden. Jikaylee Marshall had 12 for the Trojans.

          Piedmont woke up late in the second half to take a one-point halftime lead, and pulled away in the third, grabbing more momentum with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Marissa Holden from near halfcourt.
