Washington County, Middle Georgia State mourn Parker’s loss
Chris Walker, who played high school and college basketball in Central Georgia, died last Thursday at the Augusta Medical Center.
The 24-year-old was the son of longtime former Washington County head girls basketball coach Sug Parker, and sister Miracle was a WACO standout now on the Georgia College roster after starting her college career at Flagler College in Florida.
Parker graduated from Washington County in 2017. In three seasons at Middle Georgia State, he played in 34 games. He graduated in December of 2021 with a degree in Sports Management.
A balloon release is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the courthouse square in Sandersville.
The celebration of life is at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Word of Life Church on Harris St. in Sandersville.
