Henley moves up on FedEx leaderboard

Russell Henley finished with some momentum to improved his standing through three rounds of the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis.

The Stratford grad shot a 3-under 67 to move up six spots into a tie for 12th, his 8-under 202 six shots back of leader Lucas Glover.

Henley cruised steadily through the 13 holes, with 12 pars and a birdie. After bogeying 14, he reeled off three straight birdies and finished with a par.

Three great shots on 13 after he teed off deep into the left native area saved par, going from 194 yards to within 13 feet.

It was a tough day to get birdies for Henley. Of the 13 pars, he only had three chances for birdie at less than 20 feet. But he set himself up well, and he had only two par putts of more than 10 feet, hitting a pair from about a dozen feet out. From nearly 70 feet, he had par attempt of less than six feet, and got within 20 inches after being 48 feet out.

He tees off Sunday at 1 p.m. with Sungjae Im.

The top 30 finishers advance to the next round, the BMW Championship in Illinois.
