Around/about Central Georgia
Peach County’s Jackson, FVSU’s Wilson sign contracts
Before the NFL Draft is over, discussions with all sorts of players take place, and the hours after the draft are busy with signings galore.
As with Peach County and UGA grad Kearis Jackson and Fort Valley State’s Emanuel Wilson.
Jackson signed with Tennessee, which has former UGA linebacker Monty Rice on the roster. Wilson, who was the SIAC player of the year, signed with Denver. The Broncos have non-Division I players from Lindenwood, Peru State and Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Neither was expected to get picked during the three-day event.
Jackson of Georgia had a 5.64 grade on NFL.com, putting him in the “candidate for bottom of roster or practice squad” category.
Wilson had a 5.63 grade, and was listed the same as Jackson.
