Henley opens with nice round at Players
The score was acceptable enough, but Russell Henley had to battle to get it.
Through the first nine, three bogeys and two birdies. In the back nine, two birdies and a bogey.
That put Henley at an even-par 72 for the first round of the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
Henley is tied for 49th with Patrick Cantlay, Rickie Fowler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, and Max Homa, among many others. All are eight back of leader Chad Ramey, with a few players still needing to finish the first round, which was suspended.
