Around/about Central Georgia
Henley drops a little bit at BMW
Russell Henley got off to a familiar start in the second round of the BMW Championship, but a couple holes got in the way and he dropped to even for the day and into a tie for 17th.
Henley shot an even 71, with three birdies and three bogeys, having started the day tied for sixth in Wilmington, Del.
He’ll need to move up and stay there to advance to next week’s Tour Championship, the top 30 in the FedEx Cup rankings advancing.
Henley began the tournament at 43rd, and currently is projected at 35th. He was 29th after his first-round 4-under performance.
Henley missed par putts of 12 feet, less than four feet, and 13 feet on his bogeys, and was off on an 8-footer for another birdie.
Among those tied at 17th: first-round leader Keegan Bradley, who lost 10 shots from Thursday.
Henley is still only four shots behind leader Adam Scott. He tees off at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday with Tyrrell Hatton.
