FB: Mercer ranked 16th in College FB Network poll

Central Georgia high schools earn GHSA sportsmanship honor

          The GHSA and Georgia’s Electric Membership Cooperatives have teamed to sponsor the Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Awards for a high school in each GHSA region.

          The awards started in 2006.

          Centeral Georgia winners: Northside, Region 1-6A; Warner Robins, Region 1-5A; West Laurens, Region 4-4A; East Laurens, Region 2-AA; Taylor County, Region 5-A Public; Twiggs County, Region 7-A.

                                                                                       

Fan Appreciation Day at Mercer set

Savannah visited Macon, and …

          A 2-1 lead after one lasted until the fifth when Savannah tied it, and the Bananas won it with two in the ninth for a 4-2 win over Macon at Luther Williams Field.

          West Laurens grad Nolan Daniel got the win over Veterans alum Hunter Varnadoe. Nolan was the third of four pitchers, going 1.2 innings with two strikeouts and two hits, no walks. Varnadoe went the final two innings for Macon, which got two-hit games from Jack Malone and Holden Breeze in falling to 1-11 against Savannah this season.
