BSB-Middle Georgia State heads to NAIA Tournament in Miami
Middle Georgia State has a nice road trip for the NAIA baseball tournament, heading to Miami Gardens.
Action begins Monday at 10 regionals, ranging from Lawrenceville and Georgia Gwinnett to Santa Barbara, Calif. The world series is May 27-June 3 at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Ohio.
The 30-19-1 Knights are seeded fourth, and are joined by St. Thomas (4-11), McPherson (39-12), and Webber International (38-19).
MGSU faces St. Thomas (Fla. at 2:30 p.m. Monday, after McPherson and Webber start the Miami regional at 11 a.m.
The Knights participated in Lakeland, Fla. last year as a second seed, going 2-2. They went 1-2 in the SSAC Tournament.
MGSU and ninth-season head coach Paul Knight have five Central Georgians on the roster: pitcher Hunter Varnadoe of Veterans, pitchers Landin Crummey and JT Shields of Dodge County, and pitcher Matthew Huff and first baseman Brody Little of Bleckley County
