Mercer slugs its way past Jacksonville State

Mercer and Jacksonville State exchanged eight-run innings, but the Bears added four- and three-run innings en route to a 17-10 win over the host Gamecocks.

The teams combined for 27 runs and 27 hits, Mercer winning despite being outhit by one, thanks in part to three JSU errors.

Five Bears had two-hit games: Collin Price, David Burke, Blake Schmitt, Treyson Hughes, and Will Mapes. Price had a grand slam and five RBI while Burke drove in four runs.

          Mercer visits ETSU this weekend.
