Tres Cohran had two hits, two RBI, and three runs to lead the Hurricanes in the opener, Hunter Hays adding two RBI. Tom Schilling fanned eight with two walks in six innings. Jasper County put up 13 in the second inning of the three-inning nightcap. Ethan Lynch had three hits and four RBI, while Myles Proctor drove in four runs and Cohran three.
Peach County 12, Mount de Sales 6
The Trojans turned a 5-4 deficit into a big lead with eight in the sixth, holding on despite five errors and giving up four unearned runs, thanks in part to 15 walks. Bryce Harrelson had three hits and Jaocb Harnist two for the Trojans. Bricen Smith and Elijah Freeman had two hits for the Cavs..
Perry 12, Howard 2
Eight runs in the second put Perry in control en route to winning the region title. Tanner Knowles, Carson Bryant, Tyler Newhouse, and Lane Smith had two hits each for Perry, Smith with three RBI and Long, Bryant, and Newhouse with two RBI each. Ben McDow struck out 11 with four walks in five innings. Perry (21-9/16-1) and Howard (15-13/12-5) play in Macon on Friday to close out the regular season.
Rutland 2, Baldwin 1
The lead run in the fifth was part of a wild play. C Summerday scored on a passed ball, but T Lawson was out at home trying to score on the play. Then starting pitcher Summerday made the lead hold up as part of a dazzling 19-strikeout performance with no walks and three hits, needing only 90 pitches in seven innings.
Veterans 7, Bleckley County 0
Seven Veterans pitchers went an inning each and combined for an efficient two-hit shutout. Jamey McDaniel and Hunter Dryden each had two hits and two RBI for Veterans.
West Laurens 8, Spalding 2
A four-run fifth propelled the Raiders, who got two hits from Eli Floyd and Camden Thomas, who had two RBI, as did Gunnar Jeffers.
