Two walks to open the bottom of the seventh followed by a fly out, hit batter, and RBI single gave Doral the walk-off in Florida. Gage Harrelson had two hits and two runs for Houston County, while tourney MVP Drew Burress and Andrew Dunford had two RBI each.

Mary Persons 15, Jenkins 0; Mary Persons 19, Islands 4

Ian Lewis and Thomas Brooks each had two hits and four RBI for the Bulldogs, who got a two-hit/three-run game from Eric Snow in the three-inning win. Mary Persons lead 10-0 after two in the five-inning nightcap. Snow went 4 for 5 with five RBI and three runs at leadoff while Jake Gore went 4 for 4 with six RBI and two runs at No. 7. Aric Mock added three hits, with Ryan Jenkins and Gage Hopper adding two each. Lewis struck out eight with no walks in four innings.

Area hoopers participate in all-star games

The basketball chapter of the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association held a day of all-star games at Gateway Arena (basketball capacity of 3,500) in College Park, the home to the Atlanta Dream and G-League College Park Skyhawks in the shadow of Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport.

There were games for girls and boys for juniors and for seniors, starting at 11 a.m.
