Henley survives wind for decent round
Mother Nature seems intent on stretching out The Players Championship for awhile.
Wind took rain’s place in leading the tournament to be suspended again, and it’s expected to finish up on Monday.
Russell Henley was able to finish the second round, turning in a tolerable 1-over 73, putting him a 2 under for the tournament and in a tie, such as it is, for23rd. He is one of only six in the top 40 to finish both rounds.
Other than a staggering triple-bogey on 16 – he started on 10 – Henley was steady, with three birdies and a bogey.
Houston County Sharks do it again
If it’s March at the Macon Coliseum, the Houston County Sharks must be winning a state title.
It is, and they did.
Houston County beat DeKalb 32-13 Saturday in the GHSA American Association of Adapted Sports Programs Wheelchair Basketball state championship game, the Sharks’ ninth.
Adonis Brown led the Sharks with 16 points.
