          James Fordham whiffed six in 4.2 innings, and reliever Matthew Bland drove in three runs on three hits.

Howard 19, Baldwin

          A 15-run second made for a short day. Jerami Johnson went 3 for 3, while Landon Daniels, Lee Martin, and Jayden Washington had two hits each. Martin drove in four runs, while Daniels, Washington, Johnson, and Kevin Thompson had two RBI each. Andrew Garnett struck out seven in three innings. Howard (5-6/4-0) is at Mary Persons on Thursday, a day before Baldwin (1-8/0-1) hosts Howard.

Jones County 12, Union Grove 2

          The hosts led 7-0 after two, led by two-hit games from Tucker Mix and Tucker Maddox. Five Hounds drove in two runs each.

Mary Persons 14, Jackson 1

          It took only 4.5 innings, Mary Persons up 5-1 after one and ending it with seven in the fourth, thanks in part to six Jackson errors. Brady Christman drove in five runs on a homer an double, while two of Thomas Brooks’ three hits were doubles. Eric Snow, Ryan Jenkins, Ryan Causey, and Gage Hopper all had two hits. Jenkins and Zack Grizzard teamed for a three-hitter.

Upson-Lee 11, Central 1

          Evan Helms’ two-run homer in the sixth ended it early. He had three hits, three runs, and four RBI. Jackson Blakely and Davis Mitcham had two hits each. Blakely sat down 14 batters on strikes in six innings and on 17 pitches in the two-hitter.
