Central Georgia teams set for sectional wrestling
Scores of Central Georgia wrestling teams will be in action Saturday in sectional tournament with hopes to advance for one more weekend.
The top six individuals in each weight class qualify for the state tournament at the Macon Coliseum Feb. 10-12.
Perry and West Laurens in Class 4A have the most reps in the area with 14 each, Baldwin and Howard not far behind with 11 each.
Houston County has 12 and Northside 10 in 6A. Lamar County and Putnam County top the area AA field with 13 each, East Laurens next with 10, the same number as Mount de Sales in A.
Central Georgia boys and girls teams will be wrestling at Discovery, Troup County and LakePoint, Lumpkin County, Jeff Davis, and Brunswick.
The girls part combines different classes at different sites.

Westfield wins GISA state wrestling title
As per social media posts Friday night, Westfield repeated as GISA Class AAA state wrestling champs.
But the GISA posted no results of the two-day state tournament that concluded Friday.
