Alumni Update
Mary Personsโ Holden battles Mercer
Cam Holdenโs current team is located 740 miles from home, and he joined it three hours from home to play the college team located 30 minutes from home.
And had a good night.
Holden hit on 9 of 15 shots and grabbed 10 rebounds to go with 24 points in leading Towson to a 70-60 win over Mercer in the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic at Enmarket Arena in Savannah.
Holden was perfect on five free throws and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes to help the Tigers improve to 7-1.
Holden, who leads the Tigers with 35.5 minutes and is second with 15 points a game.
Holden is a redshirt senior in his second year at the CAA school, earning all-conference and all-district honors last year, as well as helping Towson to the regular-season title and NIT trip.
He graduated from Mary Persons in 2018, spent a season at Gulf Coast State (Fla.) College and led the state junior colleges in scoring as a sophomore. He transferred to Tennessee-Martin of the Ohio Valley Conference for a year, leading the Skyhawks in scoring, rebounding, and steals.

Nowkhah of ESPN/SEC Network to speak at Macon Touchdown Club
Dari Nowkhah of ESPN and the SEC Network is Mondayโs speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club in its final regular meeting of the year.
The club meets at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, in the Rumford Center, at 304 Pierce Ave. It starts at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and the program to begin around 7. Admission for non-members is $30.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart makes his yearly appearance at the jamboree in March.
Nowkhah grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma. He worked at TV stations in Montana, Nebraska, and Oklahoma before joining ESPN in 2004, and then the SEC Network in 2014.
